Choice Quartet

Choice Quartet is the band formed in 2010 by the sicilian jazz musician Roberto Barni, an eclectic multi-instrumentalist with a long career behind him, during which he played with many sicilian jazz musicians. Choice Quartet consists of Armando Barni on alto sax, Sergio Battaglia on tenor sax and Massimiliano Gintoli on electric bass. All of the compositions are written by Roberto Barni (drums and double bass) and draw their origins from the various musical influences that have accompanied him since his childhood. This jazz is never banal, with rhythms often 'Asynchronous', contaminated by sounds that come from many parts of the world: the Mediterranean, the Balkans, the Northern Europe, the USA.
"Battiti Asincroni" Vol.1, is the debut album of Choice Quartet. Eight tracks as the first chapter of a project that has its roots in the long musical journey, made up of compositions and collaborations, that Roberto Barni has developed over the years. The second volume will be released by Isulafactory by the end of November 2023.
