Hop aboard an otherworldly journey through psychedelic bass music with the enigmatic sound architect, Chris Komus. A long-time producer and DJ, the self-titled project is an eclectic stew of psy-bass, experimental bass, and just a general overall bassy weirdness. Crisp sound design and laser-edited basslines are intertwined with hauntingly dark atmospheric textures, orchestral elements and hints of space-rock, world influences, and other assortments of funky produce.
With a measured release approach (aka slow and steady wins the race), releases include multiple EPs with Shanti Planti, and numerous other EPs, singles, and compilation appearances on underground bass labels such as Street Ritual, Adapted Records, Enig’Matik Records and more. He has also contributed sound design samples on Twisted Tool’s plugin “Ultraloop”.
In addition to the psy-bass racket, the rejuvenated side-project (psy’d project?), Lo Progression, explores dark brooding melodic techno and full-on psytrance, with a release on Re:Define Records, Communique Records, and an upcoming release on Memetic, plus many more WIPs coming soon.
