Christian Gibson is a producer, composer and sound technology educator from LA. His work often lives at the intersection of electronics and dream pop.
<a href="spotify:album:74MVizO8GWU7mYQwblKfqA" data-name="The Practice of Human Flight Vol. 1">The Practice of Human Flight Vol. 1</a> was Christian Gibson's first record on Plug Research but certainly not his first album release. His follow up EP The Practice of Human Flight Vol.2 on Elegant Regrets further showcases his eclecticism and emotive aesthetic through a series of vocal driven collaborations.
After graduating from high school near Lisbon, Christian embarked on a four-year journey to England where he studied Sound Technology earning a BA Honors at <a href="spotify:artist:4STHEaNw4mPZ2tzheohgXB" data-name="Paul McCartney">Paul McCartney</a>'s former alma mater, now the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts.
In 2017, Christian put out an ambient collection of instrumentals called <a href="spotify:album:0l0BbRZpyZAP7Q2KhflMpV" data-name="Cloud Forms">Cloud Forms</a>. Most recently he has contributed production to the song Palisade from <a href="spotify:artist:3i8FZ52lJ8BJ7QWHl5xNvs" data-name="Adult Karate">Adult Karate</a>'s Del Mar album. He also released an electrifying single with <a href="spotify:artist:7Is8CSsyLYNX4GANuU3oCl" data-name="Slow Shiver">Slow Shiver</a> called Tethered. Christian wrote the music for and co produced <a href="spotify:artist:1VmTG1NmumTwTIOGbew6gH" data-name="Esthero">Esthero</a>'s latest single, a heartbreaking piano driven ballad called Baby Steps.
Christian's newest record The Practice of Human Flight vol.2 will be released October 04 , 2019. This collaborative collection explores themes such as dreaming, escapism and the ambiguous and fleeting nature of feeling anything at all. It features an eclectic variety of guest vocals from <a href="spotify:artist:0al70ZHQpQyaIyPGQZC0XY" data-name="Jane Machine">Jane Machine</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5CuU6SRJjbbZL926nSGGxX" data-name="Open Mike Eagle">Open Mike Eagle</a> ,<a href="spotify:artist:4TuJ4wM3uSETszyqMDUQzA" data-name="The Tulips">The Tulips</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2EhsRPMmPKBic0M4pFJkWk" data-name="Twin Oaks">Twin Oaks</a>.
It will certainly be one of many releases to come.
