Christian Kunert's first serious encounter with classical music was the piano. Soon followed by the bassoon. A musical success story begins, the first highlight of which consists of four first prizes at “Jugend musiziert” – comprising the categories bassoon quartet and bassoon solo. In 2007 he received the renowned Hamburg Eduard Söring Prize and in 2008 he won the ARD prize for bassoon with an additional audience prize.
After studying piano with <a href="spotify:artist:0OCB739kEu37yjT5VBLPEW" data-name="Bernd Glemser">Bernd Glemser</a> and bassoon with <a href="spotify:artist:0L3f7bSVYEc5P2l1ZT1tOd" data-name="Albrecht Holder">Albrecht Holder</a> in Würzburg, he worked as solo bassoonist at the Hamburg State Opera for 14 years. Today Christian Kunert is an internationally renowned bassoon virtuoso.
