Christian Schmitt is an album producer who has worked with the <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Sony+Classical%22">Sony Classical</a> and Denon labels, and since 2002 with Germany's <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22WDR%22">WDR</a> service, where he oversees all of its classical music recordings as well as those of the <a href="spotify:artist:5oldzkZrHypxJpr1ri05Fu">WDR Big Band</a>. Several of his recordings have won international prizes such as the Diapason d'Or, the German Record Critics' Award, and the Grammy. Schmitt received his degree in production from Detmold University in 1991, and now passes on his knowledge to students at the Robert Schumann School of Music and Media in Düsseldorf.
