Christoph Bouet

Christoph Bouet is a distinguished artist and musician whose work spans both visual and auditory realms. As a painter, he is renowned for his impasto technique, where thick layers of oil paint create textured, relief-like effects on his canvases. His landscapes blend elements of impressionism, expressionism, and abstraction. Bouet’s music, drawing from folk, country, and indie rock influences, mirrors the depth of his paintings. His vinyl releases, including Hollywood, Roadkill Madness, and Traces, have earned praise, with critics calling Traces “the best Neil Young album not made by Neil Young.” His upcoming album, Groeninger Bad 23, continues his exploration of folk influences. Rolling Stone described Roadkill Madness as a collection of “folk, country, and West Coast elegies,” while MINT magazine and Stereo magazine commended Traces, Hollywood, and RM for their authenticity, drawing comparisons to legends like Neil Young.

Bouet began his musical journey at 33. A self-taught musician, he records, plays nearly all instruments, and independently markets his music under his label, 1301 Media, in Germany.
