Meet Chxf Barry, a multi-talented production artist, creative director, and record producer from Uganda. Innovating a sonicscape that blends modern Afro Pop with lush, contemporary RnB influences, Chxf Barry is one of the most exciting and distinct leaders in African music today.
Chxf Barry began his career consulting with commercial studios until releasing music alongside the Ugandan collective, Bantu Vibes. He has since contributed to several critically acclaimed singles, including We Can Go Again, Arresting Food (Remix), Les Go Deh, and more, all of which have earned him a loyal fanbase in the region’s Alternative and Pop scenes.
Often referred to as the “producer’s producer”, Chxf Barry has worked with a plethora of trailblazing artists in the region. Ranging from experimental, dance musicians like mwami, blossoming performers such as Akeine, and industry powerhouses such as Ill Gee and Kohen Jaycee. Through his non-hierarchical approach to collaborating, Chxf Barry is known for prioritising the end product above all else, stating he’s always “in service of the music”.
