Cigana

Cigana, pseudonym of the artist Maria Simona De Sanctis, trained in theater, music and dance schools, where she studied vocal techniques, jazz, pop and rock singing. At the end of the 90s she met Mumble Rumble, a female rock band from the Bologna underground scene, with whom she shared a long musical journey from 2002 to 2014. Firmly establishing themselves as one of themost representative bands of Italian alternative, Mumble Rumble participated in international festivals, embarked on a European tour and appeared in industry magazines in Italy, Germany, England and Northern Europe. With the band Cigana recorded the album "Tredici". After leaving the group she would collaborate on "Insidious Inside", writing part of the melodies and lyrics. In 2019 she founded "After Dark", with whom she would make three singles, "Ophelia", "The night is green, the light is coming" and "Child". Cigana is also involved with cinema, loves the contamination between different art forms and creates performances in which she explores different possibilities of vocal and physical expression.
"Suitcase" is her first solo single.
