Citizen Jim is an experimental music group based in Athens, Greece, formed in
2016 by Politis Dimitris. The band serves as a platform for the
fusion and deconstruction of musical idioms, blending genres such as rock, fusion,
and rap with spoken word vocals that narrate—sometimes sarcastically, other times
poetically—social issues drawn from the contemporary Greek reality, infused with a
surreal and humorous tone.
Their sonic experimentation is reflected in releases like Trashotomy
(2018) and Nomos tis Zouglas (2021), where explosive elements of rock,
hip hop, and funk converge. In contrast, albums such as Xofaltses Pinelies
Anomalis Plokis (2019), Kriptomnisia (2022), and Bastardoupoli (2023) reveal a
broader spectrum of experimentation, incorporating lounge, electronic, and reggae
