Following a busy gigging 2023, Naarm alt-rock 5 piece <a href="spotify:artist:4hol7jQ6GoslptUOZAu0EO" data-name="Citrus">Citrus</a> burst into the new year with their debut EP ‘Otherworld,’ a four track EP that incorporates a wide range of influences whilst maintaining a well-defined sound.
<a href="spotify:track:4Re52MLeD9ZEqyi5WXT8lq" data-name="Plan B">Plan B</a>, the first single from 'Otherworld' was released on February 9. With driving folky grooves and enchanting melodies, Plan B draws its musical influences from <a href="spotify:artist:3Uqu1mEdkUJxPe7s31n1M9" data-name="Weyes Blood">Weyes Blood</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2NqgE99Ll5vOTvmbN7O2R6" data-name="Boy & Bear">Boy & Bear</a>, poking fun of a world where the needs of tech billionaires’ egos determine global policy rather than those of the common people.
After laying down tracks with Greg MacMillan at the breathtaking Echidna Studios in Yarra Glen (<a href="spotify:artist:7vZrzoDeKFqcZ9JrDThOBB" data-name="Pierce Brothers">Pierce Brothers</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6zVFRTB0Y1whWyH7ZNmywf" data-name="Tash Sultana">Tash Sultana</a>), the 5 piece alternative act from Naarm took their recordings to Ginger Studios in Northcote where they were mixed by the wonderful James Lloyd-Wyatt (<a href="spotify:artist:1uNFoZAHBGtllmzznpCI3s" data-name="Justin Bieber">Justin Bieber</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:34EP7KEpOjXcM2TCat1ISk" data-name="Wu-Tang Clan">Wu-Tang Clan</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0SNWoGaDlrCompmg9rXeNq" data-name="Paul Kelly">Paul Kelly</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6aP8ry8w3bSNyfyqhE8rGf" data-name="Missy Higgins">Missy Higgins</a>).
To celebrate the release of ‘Otherworld’, they’re bringing their friends <a href="spotify:artist:7bqUfKTyW7zXya3oqT2MGP" data-name="Great ~ Falls">Great ~ Falls</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4g4Yh36c1NIai1AonD5qTO" data-name="Pat Devlin">Pat Devlin</a> to The Bergy Bandroom in Brunswick on March 15 for a huge EP launch.
