City Mall is a Brazilian project by Pedro Spadoni, Matheus Del Claro, and Mariana Stein — a trio connected by their shared admiration for artists such as Anri, Tatsuro Yamashita, and Yacht Rock icons like Steely Dan and Toto. Known for their background in indie music, they decided to experiment by blending these influences into their own compositions, creating a synth-pop sound enriched with jazz harmonies and nods to Japanese City Pop and 80s pop music.
Based in São Paulo, Pedro and Matheus produced almost everything at home, while taking advantage of remote collaboration to invite Mariana — from Curitiba — to join as the lead vocalist. Almost everything was produced in their homes, split between the two cities. Their debut EP, “Lobby Songs,” was released by the São Paulo label Cavaca Records.
