Since 2001, Clark has sculpted sound into diverse forms. After two decades of irradiated, ecstatic experiments in electronica, techno, and rave on Warp Records, he still has a voracious desire to challenge himself, embarking on colourful adventures in ambient, classical scores, and cathartic lyrics for Deutsche Grammophon and his own Throttle Records. From folk-driven sound collage on Iradelphic, to using his vocals as yet another elastic instrument in his repertoire on the Thom Yorke mentored Sus Dog, to high octane dancefloor viscera on Steep Stims, Clark continues to stamp a thumbprint onto every album, each with a unique palette of it’s own.

Harking back to the UK origins of his debut Clarence Park’s frost encrusted vignettes, Steep Stims explores a duality between hardcore and contemplative that has long underpinned Clark’s work, evolving from the refreshingly singular songwriting of Sus Dog and its kaleidoscopic live sets which unleashed, malleable rave intensity. Whichever direction he leans in, Clark underlines the physicality of his ever-changing sound.
