CLEAN are <a href="spotify:artist:6eXT6nntXLcsbFlL5v72jT" data-name="Toby Hoffmann">Toby Hoffmann</a> , Gabriel Nowotny and Jan Harder. The trio from Germany is working on their very own pop design. The name CLEAN can be understood as a programme in the straightforwardness and reduction of their pieces. The intention of their catchy, melody-loving music is conceivably simple: to distil the good, smartly arranged song from an abundance of possibilities and influences. Or: to leave out everything superfluous without making a fuss. Before CLEAN, the three musicians were active in very different formations and projects, ranging from wide-screen rock (Ira) to indie pop (Tikitaka) to dark electronica (Das Neue Nichts).
CLEAN&#39;s Influences range from wave to indie rock, from post punk to yacht pop and folk. The three-part vocals convey lyrics that dare to be more than conventional pop phrase production.
