Finding that the grindcore scene wasn't satisfying them musically, Blindspot A.D. bandmates bassist Xandi Fromm, guitarists Steve Hartmann and Andy Rosczyk, and drummer Thomas Klaus began writing instrumental tracks together, soon bringing in Rosczyk's childhood friend, Toby Hoffmann, on spoken word vocals, and forming Ira (which is Latin for "anger").
