Cloudmachine

Cloudmachine was an eclectic indie rock band hailing from the Netherlands, and the moniker of singer-songwriter and composer <a href="spotify:artist:2IONeTGcpMPwB3v6CCyLQ8" data-name="Ruud Houweling">Ruud Houweling</a> (Alphen aan den Rijn, July 29, 1968). The style of music can be described as atmospheric with a melancholic undertone. In the words of music journalist Jean Paul Heck:
“Cloudmachine compresses the entire history of popmusic into a signature sound with a timeless quality.”
Houweling : “I&#39;ve always been interested in timeless songwriters like <a href="spotify:artist:4x1nvY2FN8jxqAFA0DA02H" data-name="John Lennon">John Lennon</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:7x83XhcMbOTl1UdYsPTuZM" data-name="Tom Waits">Tom Waits</a> , <a href="spotify:artist:2ApaG60P4r0yhBoDCGD8YG" data-name="Elliott Smith">Elliott Smith</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3HQyFCFFfJO3KKBlUfZsyW" data-name="Randy Newman">Randy Newman</a>. I love music that trancends productional trends. The essence of a song should be in it&#39;s core and not in the sauce that&#39;s covering it. We try to work with people who feel the same way.” The band released four albums, receiving critical acclaim in the Netherlands and Belgium, before dismantling in december 2014. Ruud Houweling continues under his own name. He has released two full albums and an EP since, working internationally.
