If there’s something that captures both universal and the most nuanced emotions, it’s the music of COALESCENCE, a four-piece alt-rock band hailing from Manila, known for their often intense, electrifying performances filled with raw energy.
Initially formed in 2023, singer Ethan Cardaño, lead guitarist Jianzen Deananeas, rhythm guitarist Von Alimorong, and bassist Versy Mendoza came together with an intense desire to genuinely express their individual past experiences through music.
Though bands such as The Smashing Pumpkins, Basement, and Movements are part of their influences, film and literature also inform their music—evident in their powerful, sharp, and introspective lyricism.
Each member brings their own influences and flair to produce music that speaks of the melancholic but also of anger and love; the sentimental and existential angst; and rebellion and surrender to one’s raw emotions.
In "Goodbyes (I Don't Wish To Make)," their emotional debut single, the band poignantly reminisces about their college days and candidly sings of the farewells they weren’t able to say to the people they held dear.
