Ottawa Valley native Colin Wylie was an original member of 90’s group Blinker the Star (DreamWorks), and more recently <a href="spotify:artist:5BRoJzY9SU8eC61YRKGJWs" data-name="Hinterlandband">Hinterlandband</a>. Inspired by the mid-90s summer soundtracks of his late teens, Colin Wylie's self-titled debut is a playful, guitar driven audio collage in the spirit of the albums of that period: The Breeders' <a href="spotify:album:4fyJ3cuyKlSMSw9Q5SAiEx" data-name="Last Splash">Last Splash</a>, Beck's <a href="spotify:album:0iIGP4Sxw3KR4OCFv2yvz8" data-name="Mellow Gold">Mellow Gold</a>, Pavement's <a href="spotify:album:3F8CTobvWDa46GhS0WkXYh" data-name="Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain">Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain</a>, The Pixies' <a href="spotify:album:3tOEJ6hmr8UfXxcR4kKVZg" data-name="Trompe le Monde">Trompe le Monde</a>, Teenage Fanclub's <a href="spotify:album:4M6vPZ4hQdOeH07D0JO2JQ" data-name="Bandwagonesque">Bandwagonesque</a>. A carefree collection for the care-ridden music listener, Colin Wylie’s music reflects a deep understanding of melody and song that unironically captures what this golden era of music means today.
