A soul-stirring cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Friend of the Devil” hit living rooms across the globe in the final scene of the Top 10 Netflix Thriller “The One.” Fans wracked up 50,000 Shazams in a matter of weeks, looking for Connor Desai.

Her latest release, "Forever" is the improbable, hypnotic affair between chill trap and folk. Connor's velvet vocals, jazz-tinged guitar and honest lyrics are infused with co-producer Brad Dale's (Drama, Solange, Andre 3000) downtempo/trip hop chops.

With a "moisturizer of a voice" as if "birthed from the bottom of the sea," the Seattle-based indie-acoustic-pop songwriter delivers ballads with the familiar effortlessness of a back porch cocktail. Connor’s blend of jazz-influenced, narrative folk favors authenticity over perfection, drawing comparisons to Brandi Carlile, Jenny Lewis, Norah Jones, and hot buttered rum.

Born in Allentown, PA of Billy Joel infamy, Connor and her four siblings grew up around the dinosaur steel factories where their father and grandfather worked. Encouraged by her mother (a member of the pioneering, integrated The Sons of Thunder group in the 60s and 70s) Connor learned to play guitar and piano and pick out harmonies from the back of the family’s green station wagon.
