Buffalo, NY's Cooler has always combined a calculated, pop-minded approach with sincere and gritty storytelling. Their unique brand of "dreamo" takes the best aspects of emo, dream-pop, and alternative songwriting and smashes them together into a soothing, shadowy mist that just barely smooths over underlying tones of urgency and anxiety.

The trio is soon to return with Doom Spiral, the band's first full-length LP. At nine songs, the band has finally written the cornerstone of their seven-plus year career - a wide-ranging but uniquely cohesive offering that finds the band enchanting their powerful live presence with electronic drums, shimmering keyboards, and layer upon layer of twinkly guitar textures.

They haven't lost sight of the emo revival and 90s-era fuzz influences that powered 2016's Phantom Phuzz or 2018's Buried, but Doom Spiral lilts and sways in a melancholy haze, falling closer on the spectrum to dream-pop than grunge. Doom Spiral is a dark album from a dark year; a tell-all tale of true love, even truer loss, and reclaiming what's rightfully yours no matter what the cost. Deeply personal and highly emotive, Cooler never shies away from heart-on-your-sleeve lyrics and moody vibes, no matter how heart-wrenching the result.

Cooler is Alley Sessanna (vocals/bass), Nick Sessanna (guitar/vocals), and Jake Sessanna (drums.)
