Cosmic Avenger first came about in 1995 as the outlet for brothers Gene and John Pompilio. The two play drums and guitar respectively, and drafted friend John Moller to play the keyboards. The trio crafted a poppy brand of indie rock that brought to mind Weezer blended with the Flaming Lips. They released several tapes and indie albums throughout the '90s, but by 2001 they finally put together their first nationally released album, Something on the Radio. ~ Bradley Torreano, Rovi
