At least one thing good came out of the COVID pandemic, and that's Cows Go Moo! A six piece rock band from Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada composed of three grade 8s and three grade 10s. But don't let their young age fool you, these kids rock and rock hard.
The kids were in lock down and with nothing to do decided to create a rock band bubble, starting with brother and sister Luke (vocals) and Hannah (drums) Welsh and brothers Quinn (guitar) and Connor (bass) Israel. They enlisted the massive talent of Graeme Peters, a Yukon rock legend and founding member of the band Speed Control, to help the kids figure out the in's and out's of rock and roll. Soon Louis Larsen (keys) and Thomas Koepke (guitar) joined in and the magic began.
Since then the Cows have honed their skills, becoming a sought after act in the Whitehorse and greater Yukon music scene. They have played several festival gigs, headlining the Haines Alaska State fair and the Bluefeather music festival twice and most recently played two great shows at Folk on the Rocks in Yellowknife, where they were considered one of the crowd favourites. Shows have sold out in local Whitehorse clubs, showcasing their impressive stage presence and musicianship to a fan base that has grown dramatically over their short two years of performing.
The Cows haven't just been sitting idle waiting for gigs, they have been busy in the studio and new songs have recently been released!
