Founded in 2014, charity organization CreatiVets is aimed at helping veterans overcome post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury through the creative arts.
Co-founder Richard Casper -- a veteran of the Iraq war who discovered that creative expression helped him with his own PTSD -- wanted to help others express their trauma creatively in the hopes of finding peace. The art forms championed by CreatiVets are numerous and include sculpture, painting, and musical expression, particularly in the raw emotion often found in country music or blues-rock.
