Crescent is a Blackened Death Metal band from Cairo, Egypt. A pioneer of Extreme Metal in their country and region. Formed in 1998 as a Black Metal band and self-released a demo entitled 'Dreamland' in 1999. Crescent evolved and changed multiple times, in 2008 they self-released an EP entitled 'The Retribution' which highlighted their Melodic Death Metal side.
In 2014, Crescent molded its sound and theme to become a full-fledged Egyptian Blackened Death Metal band that uniquely melds blistering Death Metal with the haunting Black Metal sound by self-releasing its full-length debut 'Pyramid Slaves'.
In 2018, Crescent signs with the French Label 'Listenable Records' and released their 2nd full-length 'The Order of Amenti'!
In 2021, Crescent released the full length album "Carving the fires of Akhet"
Crescent announced the release of the 4th album titled "A Sacrament of Aur" to be out in Spring 2026
Crescent is the first Egyptian band to perform at Wacken Open Air (2014). along with performing at multiple renowned festivals in Europe like Inferno Metal Festival, Fall of Summer, Party.San Open Air, Gothoom Open Air, Rockstadt Festival and more.
