West London’s Crowd Control Collective (CCC), are seeking to distort the UK’s music scene. Embedded with abstract hip-hop production, their take on modern rap encompasses a punk ethos - with performances from a multitude of vocalists and collaborators. Their sound, akin to their nonchalant attitude, fuses genres from hyperpop and trap to noise and metal - coated in lyrical absurdity.
Since making their debut in 2022, the London-based group have quickly formed a name in the underground scene. CCC gained a reputation for their high octane live performances which fuses live instruments with a DJ; this saw them amass a run of festivals and consecutive sold-out London shows, including a Dublin headline appearance. Endorsed by District magazine as ‘the most refreshing live act of the year’, Crowd Control are a true manifestation of their name.
The collective’s catalogue is set to expand with the release of ‘Payroll’, their 2nd EP which embodies elements of UK rap with an unorthodox approach. Lead single ‘Bugz Bunny’, featuring peers and rising London artists Saiming and KD, has already amassed 5,000 listeners organically. Fresh off a sold out headline show at The Camden Assembly, CCC look to bring their unique brand of modern rap to further depths in 2023.
