Crybaby Special are a four piece gypsy ska punk band from the Medway towns in Kent. With an um-pap-pah heavy back beat, they take the best of British ska and have carried it forward with an infectious uncompromising gypsy punk attitude that is sure to get you off your chair and onto the dance floor. Their influences include Captain Beefheart, The Specials, Madness and Gogol Bordello.
Crybaby Special’s past shows included supporting Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets), Pete Doherty at the Torriano (Camden), Babyshambles at Brixton Jamm (Brixton) and Maximo park at Dreamland, Margate. Their new single “Surrender” was released on Friday 13th October 2017 with a daytime in-store live performance that took place at Vinylstore Jr, Canterbury to celebrate the launch. Crybaby Special have been booked for live performances in France and Japan which will take place in March and April 2018.
