CT Rocco is a South East London born and bred Rapper who has used his upbringing and various amounts of influence to shape a raw and organic sound for his community. Rocco grew up in a council estate with his mum, they were surrounded by the urban culture of gangs, drugs and music. He was raised on the rough sounds of his predecessors such as Dizzee Rascal, D Double E as well as Old School american Hip-Hop with influence being taken from Nas and Notorious BIG. These influences affected the way in which he thought. The polarity between the gritty English sound and East Coast Hip-Hop gave Rocco a chance to mould a style which was best suited for him. The style of rapping he has pioneered is conscious rap with a "GUN SIGN DANCE RIDDIM" vibe to it. In simple terms; as well as turning up to his stylistic flow, you can escape in his heartfelt words and insightful storytelling. CT Rocco got his name whilst battling a rapper on his estate. CT stands for Cut-Throat. A friend gave Rocco this nickname as it best explained a person who decapitated his opponents so cleanly when partaking in the brutal sport of battle rap. Rocco didn't embrace the name at all, as music was something to past time while on the block with his guys. Money Hungry Music Group saw more to Rocco than just being another statistic, and pushed him to go to studio sessions and got him to record his first track Toxic Freestyle. At this point in CT Rocco’s career he is just aiming for more blessings.
