Curtis Mayz was born and raised in Dallas, Texas’ Notorious Neighborhood, affectionately known as Oak Cliff, Texas. Unlike any other, Dallas and his Oak Cliff neighborhood ring loudly throughout his everyday life and his music. Curtis Mayz is without a doubt, one of the most introspective artists to ever reside in & rise from the South.

The Southern Rhyme-spitter, Curtis Mayz prides himself on being a student first and an artist second. Curtis Mayz beautifully manages to tap into a wide spectrum of musical styles that range from laid back - riding music, to Club and Radio singles, to Lyrical onslaughts. His music is heavily influenced by music and cultural icons ranging from Malcolm X, Tupac Shakur, UGK, Outkast, Devin The Dude, Nas & many more.

Over the Past two years, Curtis Mayz name has begun to ring not only in the Southern region but nationally, with the release of his Black Excellence Mixtape in late 2015, the release of Real.Life.Raps in September 2016 , and the critically hailed release of his “TripleDiziac” LP in September 2017.
Curtis Mayz Is without a doubt, an artist to keep on your radar. He is currently working on a new EP titled “Fortune Lane” due out in the 1st quarter of 2018.
