Cut Up is a Swedish death metal quartet formed by drummer Tobias Gustafsson and vocalist/bassist Erik Rundqvist in early 2014. Both had been members of <a href="spotify:artist:67M6JBe7t7hZTDbrUsimqm">Vomitory</a>, which disbanded at the end of 2013. They recruited guitarist Anders Jakobson and guitarist/vocalist Andreas Björnson. The former had been in <a href="spotify:artist:4ITxNeS8KlhvvjLm4GZhv7">Coldworker</a> from 2006-2013, while the latter fronted <a href="spotify:artist:4J1kXzeJIvLmXkLQ9yH2Rr">Fetus Stench</a>.
They spent most of the year writing and rehearsing, and entered a recording studio in November. Their debut album, Forensic Nightmares, was an exercise in collective songwriting. It was released by <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Metal+Blade%22">Metal Blade</a>.
