The essence of D.HENRY is a fondness for singer-songwriter pop melodies combined with handplayed instruments and with philosophical and multifaceted lyrics as the seed of the music.

D.HENRY is a welcome alternative to the music scene and is a splendid example of a Danish act with an international and delicate sound. The songs are grounded in a singer-songwriter tradition but with a pop-minded indie vibe together with a true songwriters ability to create melodic, yet complex and timeless metaphorical lyrics. The sound of D. HENRY is airy with a good drip of melancholia incorporated in profound lyrics.

D.HENRY is centered around the experienced singer, songwriter and multiinstrumentalist Dan Østerby, who has had several songs aired on national radio in Denmark during his career with other projects. He is known for mastering a poetic and ingenius form of text writing whose layers never will bore. D.HENRY originated as an introvert and self reflective solo project in the aftermath of a divorce, which is also the theme of the first album For Those About To Pull The Rug.
