Daft Daughter

Born and raised in Vacaville, California Michael Isaiah grew up under the influences of a music-filled home. From his father’s Jazz/Soul listenings to his mother’s R&amp;B and Alternative, he knew no borders to his ear proceeding to artists like <a href="spotify:artist:04gDigrS5kc9YWfZHwBETP" data-name="Maroon 5">Maroon 5</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7o95ZoZt5ZYn31e9z1Hc0a" data-name="Natasha Bedingfield">Natasha Bedingfield</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:07QEuhtrNmmZ0zEcqE9SF6" data-name="Owl City">Owl City</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0Grjlu7ncIuCaSYvCs9fcd" data-name="New Radicals">New Radicals</a>.

After an unmastered musical youth hearing <a href="spotify:track:70wYA8oYHoMzhRRkARoMhU" data-name="When You Were Young">When You Were Young</a> by <a href="spotify:artist:0C0XlULifJtAgn6ZNCW2eu" data-name="The Killers">The Killers</a> delivered by a PlayStation 2 copy of Guitar Hero 3, evoked what would be never-ending passion for the electric guitar and the gaps it melodically bridged. Spending his later adolescence withdrawn from social scenes, Isaiah spent time broadening his sonic palette both free-lancing playlist to playlist and via movie soundtracks becoming entangled with artists from <a href="spotify:artist:09L3cUdx0hq6qn5bKuJJ4I" data-name="Herb Alpert &amp; The Tijuana Brass">Herb Alpert &amp; The Tijuana Brass</a> to <a href="spotify:artist:5UVftEhSsIg0kkXlmfhB6M" data-name="Hot Hot Heat">Hot Hot Heat</a>. Inevitably in 2019 after uniting with an electric six-string of his own (a black Stratocaster), Isaiah began teaching himself to not only play the instrument but pair it with lyrics as well. Taking inspiration from artists like <a href="spotify:artist:4QkSD9TRUnMtI8Fq1jXJJe" data-name="Snail Mail">Snail Mail</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3l0CmX0FuQjFxr8SK7Vqag" data-name="Clairo">Clairo</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:35l9BRT7MXmM8bv2WDQiyB" data-name="beabadoobee">beabadoobee</a>, a new chapter had begun.

Today the 22-year-old writes, performs, and produces all of his works accompanied only by a Fender Stratocaster, an iPad, and the four walls of a suburban bedroom. Scribing song laced with feelings of love, loss &amp; limerence all under the alias <a href="spotify:artist:4c2lGwxywvmJ7jLXjih4yu" data-name="Daft Daughter">Daft Daughter</a>.
