DAG is a Tokyo- and New York-based rapper, musician, and producer from the mountain town of Hida-Takayama, Japan. Known for his soulful voice and emotionally charged performances, he blends hip-hop with genres like jazz, soul, rock, and house. After moving to New York in 2015, he gained recognition performing in Japanese at global jam sessions and collaborating with international artists. In April 2025, he will release IMA, his first album in 12 years, co-produced with NY pianist Takahiro Izumikawa. DAG continues to push boundaries, connecting cultures through music with authenticity and bold creativity.
飛騨高山から東京、そして世界へ。ジャンルの枠にとらわれない唯一無二のボーダレスなスタイルとスタンスを持った、21世紀の日本を代表する音楽アーティスト。2000年代初頭から活動を始め、現在は東京とNYにそれぞれ拠点を置きながら音楽活動を継続。これまでに多くの作品リリースや幾多の客演作に携わりながらも、DAGの真骨頂はマイクを握り目の前のオーディエンスを瞬間的に熱狂させる迫真のライヴパフォーマンスにあり、そうした場をクリエイションし続けてきたことが、アーティストDAGのコアエッセンス。
2015年より渡米した先のNYにおいても、グラミー受賞アーティストら世界的ミュージシャンがしのぎを削る現場にて「日本語」でロックし続け、常に逆境に飛び込み可能性の枠を押し広げてきた。2023年より東京とNYのデュアルライフをスタートさせてからは、楽曲制作に加え、音楽をきっかけとする出会いの場をクリエイションすることを自身のライフワークとし、オーバー/アンダーグラウンドをノーボーダーで走り続ける。
