Dan I Locks - reggae singer, selector and producer set up in Malmö, Sweden.
With an early interest in music, Dan I Locks has been singing and playing the guitar since he was a youth.
By starting the sound system DENG DENG HiFi in 2005, the foundation was laid for playing an active roll in both the Swedish and European sound system scene, building a studio and starting up the label DENG DENG Music.
The first single ”Jah Far-I” was released in 2009 and it got extensive play and recognition from the legend Jah Shaka. Since then, one LP and more than 45 single releases have followed on various labels.
Having worked closely with several producers like Ashanti Selah, Ackboo and Indica Dubs, Dan I Locks are now also working with the band Bewarehouse Allstars.
The latest release ”Cease Fire” is the first song out of several to come from this new project.
Apart from singing, Dan I Locks also plays and records percussion, guitar, piano, binghi and thunder drum. He arranges riddims and take part in the recording process.
Throughout the years Dan I Locks has travelled around Europe to sing on the microphone alongside various sound systems and have performed on festivals such as Rototom Sunsplash, Dub Camp, and United Nations of Dub.
His latest release with Ashanti Selah, ”Vibes Up” sold out instantly and more releases are planned for the future.
