I-mitri, an original member of AMP Outernational (formerly Atiko Minus) and part of the Dubwise HiFi collective, is these days based between Leicester, UK, and Greece. Active in the Leicester sound system scene since 2001, he promotes events and hosts the weekly United Nations Of Dub radio show on Radio2Funky. In 2006, he co-founded the CounterAction Soundz label with Richi Rootz. A versatile artist, he sings, produces, and plays percussion for labels such as Universal Egg, AMP Outernational, Rasheda Lioness Music, CounterAction and Roots Youths. His remix of Zion Train’s “Dry Your Tears” won Remix Album of the Year (2019) on reggae.fr. He has worked with artists like Vibronics, Jahfree, Phaeleh, Slimmah Sound and Imperial Sound Army, and performed on sound systems including Jah Tubby’s, King Earthquake, Blackboard Jungle, Sinai and Mungo’s HiFi. His tracks are played by reggae legends like David Rodigan, Channel One and Iration Steppas. As a promoter, he co-created the United Nations Of Dub Weekender, the world’s first major indoor reggae & dub sound system festival (2013-2016). Now a devoted father and husband, I-mitri continues to release music and share his love for roots and culture through global tours, whether on the mic, selection or live dub mixes, on stage and sound system performances.
