“Freak music legend,” "mischievous political goblin," Danbert Nobacon, a member of the British anarchist punk rock band Chumbawamba since 1982, moved to Twisp WA USA in 2007. He has since released a handful of albums working with musicians and artists from the Pacific North West and Chicago under the umbrella name The Axis of Dissent. The songs embrace a variety of musical genres employing the chisels, knives, microscopes and fine brushwork of art and science to explore the social issues of the day, whilst embracing thespian punk elements that betray Nobacon’s past life as a as an academic studying children’s play whilst moonlighting in Chumbawamba, and sometime High School Drama teacher.
