Darrell Dominic

Darrell Dominic, formerly known as Smiley-D, is originally from Oklahoma City. He currently resides in the greater Seattle area. Born and raised by a single mother with 4 siblings in the ghetto. He walked the path of living the street life trying to find his way towards manhood because there were no father figures around to teach him. His grimey raw style of rap and hip-hop music derives from surviving growing up on the streets. He occasionally adds symphony and orchestral instruments to his music to allow his audience to feel the emotions and depth of the life he has lived. Regardless of being influenced by the street life of drugs and violence, he communicates honest lyrics that people of all walks of life can relate to and understand. His music is heavily influenced by his faith in Christ and his experiences rising out of the mire of the streets. Darrell imparts wisdom and truth in the stories he has to tell. He is an advocate and a voice in the community for youth and young adults on the streets and in the criminal justice system. Since rebranding from Smiley-D, he has released his project Hindsight as a testament to how his life has been transformed and how his experiences in life played a part in God’s plan for his life. He is currently working on his next project and establishing his record label Tats & Scars Ent.
