Australian musician Darren Hanlon is known for his own unique narrative songwriting and heartfelt storytelling. His songs hone in on the politics of love and relationships and have a rare ability to present the commonplace as something special. After many albums and years of traveling to the far flung corners of the world he has carved out a loyal following and scattershot career on his own terms.

Throughout his career Hanlon has stayed staunchly independent, running his own label Flippin Yeah Records, upon which he releases his own albums and writings, as well as other artists he crosses paths with: Shelley Short, Kankawa Nagarra, Jack Davies, Anthonie Tonnon, David Dondero and Jonathan Richman. He has toured Australia and the world with many of his musical heroes such as Billy Bragg, the Magnetic Fields, Michael Hurley and others.
