Vacaville, California native and current first-call Mountain West saxophonist David Halliday, studied with Grammy-winning jazz sax legend Joe Henderson. He established himself in his late teens, performing in Sacramento, the Napa Valley, and the Bay Area. David attended Loyola University in New Orleans, where he joined the now legendary funk band, Galactic. His musical travels include 46 of the United States, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guatemala, Mexico, and eight European nations. David has performed or recorded with Aerosmith, Josh Groban, Maxwell, Dizzy Gillespie, The Temptations, Wynton Marsalis, Ben Folds, the Four Tops, the Glenn Miller Orchestra, and has been a guest soloist with the Utah Symphony. You may have heard him on ABC’s NBA theme, ABC’s "Touched By an Angel," a national KFC commercial featuring Jason Alexander, a Corona commercial that aired worldwide, or on Spotify’s Coffee Table Jazz playlist, courtesy of which the title track of David’s 2012 Lone Peak Sound release "Dreamsville" has over 7.1 million streams. Halliday is the Director of Jazz & Popular Music Studies at Westminster College, an Associate Adjunct Professor of Saxophone at the University of Utah, a member of the Silverstein Works Educator Program, and a Cannonball Musical Instruments, Falcon Woodwinds, Key Leaves, and ReedGeek Artist.
