Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist David Ontiveros is an independent artist who turns to music as an outlet for his creative passion. A self-taught guitarist, bassist, keyboardist and drummer. David’s musical talents were partially developed by his role as a bassist for multiple Roots Reggae bands on the Big Island of Hawaii. Although his love for Reggae is evident, he also draws inspiration from genres like Pop, Hip/Hop, and Indie.
His unique style and love of music can be traced to his father, Ike White, an accomplished Rhythm & Blues musician of the 1970’s. Ike’s raw talent and tragic life is the subject of a recent BBC documentary. David feels a connection to his late, often estranged father whenever he writes or performs music.
As a creative, David sets himself apart by telling a compelling story through songwriting and production that’s both unique and radio friendly.
Originally from Hawai’i but now living in Portland, OR, David is always looking for experienced artists to collaborate with and is working on building an empire doing what he loves.
