Born and partially raised on the small Caribbean island of St. Lucia, Lady Stone’s passion for music began at an early age. Being on the church/school choir exposed a love for singing. But it was discovering John Denver’s album, “It’s About Time”, in cassette form that would initiate an insatiable hunger for music. At age 9, while nursing an elementary school broken heart, she wrote her first song.
Stone’s eclectic taste in music developed in her early teens and directly influences her style of writing and vocal delivery. Her influences vary from Lucky Dube, Culture, Bob Marley, Celine Dion, Bonnie Rait, George Jones, Jay-Z and current favorite, Trevor Hall. They’ve all helped to build and solidify my identity”
A distinct blend of unique vocals, unmatched songwriting ability and musical vulnerability makes for a reggae artist like you’ve never heard OR felt.
