A native of New York City's Brooklyn borough, Dawin was playing instruments at the age of 4 and started to pursue music seriously as a teenager. He found viral success on social media in January 2014 with his song "Just Girly Things" on Vine. In 2015 he released his follow up single "Dessert" which had greater success.
