Day Brake is the solo project of Wouter Van Houdt, an independent multi-instrumental producer from surroundings Leuven-Hasselt. He brings out the best in other talented musicians in his scenic, psychedelica influenced experimental rock/pop and constantly keeps an eye on new ways to create art. To achieve this, Wouter produces everything in-house and takes up the role of songwriter, musician, producer, mixing engineer, manager and graphic artist.
After winning the Rob Scallon x Mary Spender cover contest in 2018, he released several in-house singles and two EP's. He combines experiment, electronica and guitar based music to one psychedelic trip. Influences range from legendary artists like Pink Floyd and Jimi Hendrix to modern talent like Mac DeMarco and Tash Sultana.
Besides Day Brake, Wouter is also the bassist from experimental indie rock band Neptune Bloom, recording/mixing engineer at PXL Music in Hasselt, co-founder of art collective AIRY and ex-guitarist from alternative rock band Joe and the Llama's.
