In the wake of <a href="spotify:artist:6kBjAFKyd0he7LiA5GQ3Gz">Aqua</a>'s unexpected stateside success in 1997, several new Europop groups received a big push from major labels. One of these was the Denmark-based Daze. Led by songwriters/keyboardists Sieber and J.T. and featuring vocalist Trine Bix, the group's first single, "Superhero," became a huge Scandinavian hit upon its release in the fall of 1997, and its accompanying album, Super Heroes, reached number one in Denmark and number three in Scandinavia. In the spring of 1998, the album received the Danish Grammy equivalent for Best Dance Album of the Year. On the strength of all this European success, <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Columbia%22">Columbia</a> signed the group and released Super Heroes in the summer of 1998. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi
