A Southern rapper who grew up on East Coast-styled rap like <a href="spotify:artist:5me0Irg2ANcsgc93uaYrpb">Notorious B.I.G</a>. and <a href="spotify:artist:20qISvAhX20dpIbOOzGK3q">Nas</a>, Dee Day introduced the world to his diverse style in 2013. Raised in the Jefferson Parish area of Marrero, Dee Day dropped The Colors in 2013, a mixtape that featured guest appearances from <a href="spotify:artist:0f5nVCcR06GX8Qikz0COtT">Omarion</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1gPhS1zisyXr5dHTYZyiMe">Kevin Gates</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:6evKD5JWJON3qPBJtUEmtY">G-Unit</a> member <a href="spotify:artist:2zJoKYyLmhvsq3ORbXE7xF">Kidd Kidd</a>. National tours with <a href="spotify:artist:5gCRApTajqwbnHHPbr2Fpi">Juicy J</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:6TIYQ3jFPwQSRmorSezPxX">Machine Gun Kelly</a> helped spread the word, then in 2014, the rapper hit with "InstaStars," a single that went after the new "celebrities" that emerged via social media and/or photo sharing apps.
