delving is a studio project by Nicholas DiSalvo, best known as the frontman of the heavy rock band Elder.

Broadly speaking, delving explores instrumental music with a heavy focus on psych rock, krautrock, early electronic music as well as ambient sounds, all while showcasing the evocative melodies and unique songwriting for which DiSalvo has become known.

The debut album "Hirschbrunnen" was recorded in the pandemic years where touring was brought to a grinding halt, allowing time to finally pick up song fragments and ideas collected over years and coalesce them into an album. Positive reception led to the foundation of a live band, which has crystalized in the lineup of DiSalvo, Michael Risberg (Elder, Weite), Ingwer Boysen (Weite) and Uno Bruniusson (Maggot Heart).

delving's second album "All Paths Diverge" broadened the scope of the project, digging deeper into prog rock and electronic music to create a record somewhat undefinable.
