Demekech, Agnes Hedlund, grew up in Skellefteå, north of Sweden. A place where she never felt that she fitted in. Feelings of in-betweenness/loneliness and love for the music led her on the journey away from home; A longing after something new and a search for her identity. She debuted in 2021 with the EP “call dad”. A collection of songs dedicated to her dad. The lyrics touch on subjects such as being from a small town, mental illness and the consequences it leaves in a relationship. In 2023, Demekech brought her audience on a new journey with singles such as “Happy If I Stay Around”, “OZZ”, and “Too Kind”. Tracks with bigger productions and a more poppy sound. The upcoming album “BIG GIRL MESS TAPE” is an intimate EP inspired by her own love life, about loss of a close relative, about the heaven where she exposes her most inner thoughts and the sense of feeling big in every room.
