Denise Mwanakitata Muwayi as known “Dena Mwana” was born on December 27 in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo. She is the fifth child, from a family of eight children.
She began singing in public as part of a church choir, "Notre dame de Grâce", in Kinshasa at the age of 13 and she was their music director by the age of 18.
By 2004, her first band, Acapella Thematic Musical Group, was born.
In 2006, she emigrated to the United States to pursue a career in gospel music, settling in Virginia. From 2008, she decided to split her time between the US and the DRC.
As a professional gospel artist, Dena Mwana started her career in 2011 when she launched her first album “Hosanna”.
In 2016, she launched her second recorded album “MONENE” and in 2020, her third album “SOUFFLE”, a powerful album of fourteen songs with international collaborations. After several collaborations, she launched in November 2022, her new single “UNE ARMÉE” with a jazzy and classic vibes and another single "LINDANDA (na na na) in December 2022.
March 22nd, 2024 Dena Mwana released her new single "Affranchis (Bana Nzamba) featuring Glorya Reliques. This song announced her new E.P "2 DADDY" released May 3rd, 2024. And for a first time she had concerts Tour in Europe in 9 different cities: Lille, Cologne, Berlin, Amsterdam, Bordeaux, Lyon, Paris & Brussels.
