Denis Sulta – aka Hector Barbour – has become one of the most prolific dance music producers and DJs to emerge from Glasgow’s vibrant scene.
Bursting onto the circuit with exuberance, his rise has been nothing short of stratospheric. Following the 2015 release of “It’s Only Real,” a Boiler Room set in his hometown, and high-profile bookings at The Warehouse Project, Space Miami, and Panorama Bar, Sulta quickly became one of Glasgow’s most in-demand exports.
Now a fixture everywhere from Circoloco in Ibiza to Timewarp and Awakenings, and with his Sulta Selects parties selling out major venues worldwide, he is regarded as a leading global producer. His dynamic sets continue to ignite airwaves, earning nearly 5 million streams across three Boiler Room appearances, with his latest becoming one of their most-viewed sets of the year.
After a run of singles and EPs on his Sulta Selects label that defined his slinky, groove-driven house sound, Sulta released the “Aye Spoake Te Sumwuhn & They Listenhd” EP on Ninja Tune in 2019. Now, following a long production hiatus, he returns with the anthemic “World of Flies.” His first original release since 2020, the independently issued single marks a new chapter, showcasing his evolution as a lyricist, vocalist, and songwriter.
