“Beasts of a Future Decay,” the debut EP from Design Flaw, is a dark and atmospheric arrangement of soaring guitars, layered vocals, driving drums and bass, and otherworldly screams. It is heavy — but uniquely accessible — building from hypnotic grooves and vibrant hooks into massive, cathartic crescendos.
With parallels to defining post-hardcore bands, including Circa Survive, Nothing, Defeater, Thrice, and Holy Fawn, Design Flaw’s music is a conversation between post-rock, post-hardcore, and blackgaze.
“Beasts of a Future Decay” was recorded and mixed by Kenny Eaton at Mystery Ton Studios (Giraffes? Giraffes!, Scale the Summit, Time Columns), and mastered by Will Yip (Nothing, Bartees Strange, Circa Survive). Cover artwork by Duncan Gilchrist.
