American beatmaker Devonwho (Devon Fox) produces laid-back electro-funk informed by the '90s G-funk sound, but with enough trippiness to fit in with the <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Brainfeeder%22">Brainfeeder</a>/<a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Stones+Throw%22">Stones Throw</a> beat scene. Originally based in Portland, he's lived throughout the West Coast, and he co-founded the Klipmode collective with frequent collaborators <a href="spotify:artist:4GcpBLY8g8NrmimWbssM26">Mndsgn</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0hNK7ZdOjiUJd2C17JAjK8">Suzi Analogue</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:17Zu03OgBVxgLxWmRUyNOJ">Knxwledge</a> around 2009. Following several digital releases and compilation appearances, as well as a split 7" with drum'n'bass producer <a href="spotify:artist:4G1BTcGLvvsItegHSvBH0y">dBridge</a>, Devonwho's 12" EP Keepthafunkalive appeared on Irish label <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22All+City%22">All City</a> in 2010, followed by Strangebrew two years later. Full-length cassette Perfect Strangers was released by <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Dropping+Gems%22">Dropping Gems</a> in 2013. 2010, a collaborative EP with <a href="spotify:artist:48C2RLG6w7o4jAJjCJKZM8">Shigeto</a> that was originally scheduled for release on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22All+City%22">All City</a>, was made available as a free download in 2015. The following year, <a href="spotify:artist:4KKx8fVJ0y7EcpmYZ42jPc">Matthewdavid</a>'s <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Leaving+Records%22">Leaving Records</a> issued Devonwho's cassette EP Lyon, followed by full-length LP Luz. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi
