While his path from point-A to point-B has been anything but a straight line, it's fair to say that every moment Din (Mubashir Mohi-ud-Din) has experienced as a singer/songwriter has led him directly to this pivotal moment of his career. Born in Yorkshire, England, to parents who emigrated from the disputed territory of Kashmir (between India and Pakistan), Din grew up in Maryland/DC before moving to the Lower East Side in New York City. From having songs featured in critically acclaimed films like "The Messenger," "Amira and Sam," and "The Light Of The Moon," to scoring the independent feature "Valley Of The Saints" which took home multiple awards, to leading New York bands Zerobridge and The Moors, while also collaborating and playing with the talents of JP Bowersock (The Strokes, Julian Casablancas, Ryan Adams and The Cardinals, Norah Jones) & Earl Slick (David Bowie, John Lennon) – every step Din has taken along the way has become a giant leap forward in his own evolution as an artist. Building on a reputation for his combinations of substantial material & stylistic sounds, Din is taking everything that he’s learned into the next chapter as a solo artist, ready to break new ground in every possible way. “Let The Right One In” is the first single from Din as DIN NYC-- a powerfully addictive tune, echoing indie pioneers Teenage FanClub & The Replacements as well as classic artists like Tom Petty and "A Hard Day's Night" era Beatles. ~The Bearded One, Sleepingbag Studios
